Refrigerant
is the working fluid which is in refrigeration and air conditioning systems to
transfer thermal energy to produce the effect of freezing. It can be divided
into categories according to work method, namely the Primary and the Secondary
refrigerant. Classified according to material properties, it can be divided
into Natural refrigerants and Synthetic refrigerant.
In the
air conditioning system, it is the substance that makes heat begin to transfer
through evaporation and condensation. It is always known as Freon.
Ideal Refrigerant
non-toxic, non-explosive, non-corrosive metal and non-metallic
effect, no burning, easy to detect leakage, chemical stability, non-destructive
for lubricating oil, with more latent heat of vaporization, environmentally
friendly.
Secondary
refrigerant and refrigerant agent are collectively called refrigerant. In air conditioning systems,
it can transfer thermal energy to produce cooling effect. Freon is an absorb
easily heat into a gas, and give out heat easily to become liquid. In the early
time, refrigeration plants use ammonia as freon, ammonia can give out heat
easily to become liquid upon compression. When the liquid becomes gas, it will
need heat.
Every
common air-conditioners are used Freon CFCs. But previously these CFCs would
destroy the ozone layer. Nowadays scientists have now developed the CFCs which
does not destroy the ozone layer.
