Mechanical Property Requirement of Enameled Wire

When wire wound into a coil and embedding process, between enameled wire, enameled wire and fixtures will rub against each other. So the enameled wire will suffer from bending, stretching or compressing. Thus enameled film is required to have good abrasion resistance, scratch resistance and good adhesion to the conductor.

For ease of manufacturing and processing, enameled wire is required good softness, elasticity and bending performance, so easily deformed coil molding. Modern high-speed automatic wire winding machines also require a smooth surface, low coefficient of friction, and special purpose wire and requires a greater coefficient of friction. When the motor is running, winding will suffer from stress by shock, vibration, centrifugal force and thermal expansion. So enameled wire should have a tensile strength.
